Show Clara Larsen Opens New Shop Realizing the ambition of a lifetime . . . opening a shop of her own . . . this week, Mrs. Clara Larsen, widely known local lo-cal sewing authority, opened a shop in the front of her home at 650 E. 21st South. Store was officially opeend during the week end of July 24. The new shop will be one of the best equipped shops of its kind in the state, according to Mrs. Larsen. Five machines have been installed. Specialties of the Clara Larsen Shop are: hemstitching, buttons, button holes, buckles, belts, and hose mending. Clara Larsen's will cany a complete line of sewing notions including shoulder pads. "Our shop is the answer to all your sewing needs," Mrs. Larsen stated. Formerly at Ben Franklin's Formerly at Ben Franklin's in Sugar House, Mrs. Larsen's new shop is a "natural expansion," expan-sion," she says. Customers and patrons have demanded more and more service since she first went to the local store m 1945. Mrs. Larsen first became interested in-terested in hemstitching when she was teaching her three daughters at home. Today the mother-daughter sewing circle still meets weekly; even though all the daughters are married and have children of their own. Mrs. Larsen has 11 grandchildren. grandchil-dren. Soon demands were made upon her outside her home as neighbors and acquaintances sought her advice and help. In 1945 she took her service to the Ben Franklin store. Active in local affairs. Mrs Larsen is a prominent member of the Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club. |
