Show Chamber to Hear New Secretary at (Meeting Tuesday i ber activities are contemplated ( and under an intensive member-. I ship drive now being outlined by John C. Barnes, memlership chairman, it is hoped the membership mem-bership in the organization will be nearly trebled. Several new members have been signed up since the last meeting and they will be introduced in-troduced to the group Tuesday. Con D. Silard, new executive secretary of the Sugar House chamber of commerce, will address ad-dress the regular membership meeting of the group next Tuesday Tues-day at 12:15 p.m. at Weasku Inn. Mr. Silard will speak on "The Future of Sugar House," and will be introduced by Horace Hor-ace A. Sorensen, chamber president. pres-ident. Mr. Silard and Mr. Sorensen will also outline plans for the Sugar House Days of '47 celebration, cele-bration, a cooperative civic undertaking un-dertaking to be staged Monday July 22, in the business district. Present plans call for a parade and some sort of entertainment in the evening on the plaza. Floats in the parade which will depict the past, present and future fu-ture of this area, will also be entered in the big downtown parade pa-rade on July 24th. A full attendance of the chamber cham-ber membership is requested Tuesday, as important business matters will be taken up, including includ-ing the consideration of changes in the chamber's constitution and by-laws. Meanwhile remodeling is underway un-derway on the new chamber headquarters located at 1119 E. 21st So., the east half of the Bulletin building. This will be the first time the chamber has had a headquarters with full-time personnel to furnish information of various kinds of to businesses of the area and tourist information informa-tion as well.
