Show East Mill Creek Baby Contest Deadline Friday Infant King and Queen To Reign at Annual July 4th Celebration Deadline for entries of four and five year-olds in the East Mill Creek annual baby king and queen contest is Friday, June 12, Mrs. Emmett L. Mor-his, Mor-his, general chairman, announced. announc-ed. On Tuesday evening, 7 p.m., at the Grandview LDS Ward three prominent judges will select se-lect the 1948 king and queen and their two attendants. The young royal couple will reign over the gala July 4 celebrations to be held at East Mill Creek Park. Winners will be awarded loving lov-ing cups. Attendants will be given gold jewelry. Under the sponsorship of Uie East Mill Creek Lady Lions, the king and queen contest this year will attract some 35 entrants, Mrs. F. E. Pitts, contest chairman chair-man stated Tuesday. An annual affair, the contest has been under un-der the direction of the Lady Lions group for the past three years. Prior to that time the East Mill Creek LDS stake put on the show as a yearly entertainment enter-tainment for residents of the community. July 4 Parade, Party The young king and queen will rule over the festive children's chil-dren's parade on the morning of July 4. At this time East Mill Creek kiddies will hold a full-dress full-dress parade, featuring elaborately elabo-rately decorated wagons, tri-cyciles tri-cyciles and other children's vehicles. ve-hicles. The kiddies themselves will be brightly costumed for the big event. In the evening the young couple will reign over the entertaining children's program pro-gram which will feature a magnificent mag-nificent fireworks display.
