Show Betty Hutton Plays Life of Texas Guinan In Anniversary Week Hit at Centre Theatre Together, Betty and de Cordova Cor-dova work hand in hand in each other's interest, eventually winding up in Hollywood as a producing team. In lavish Technicolor, "Incendiary "In-cendiary Blonde" has a nostalgic air as Betty sings a group 'of old-time favorites as popular today as ever. All Hollywood screen musicals mu-sicals should turn out like "Incendiary "In-cendiary Blonde." Betty Hutton is the big noise in this Paramount Para-mount surprise dish now showing show-ing at the Centre theater. Arturo de Cordova costars with Miss Hutton while Barry Fitzgerald and Charlie Ruggles are much in evidence from start to finish. "Incendiary Blonde" is the colorful tale of Texas Guinan, one-time queen of the night clubs. Her life story is a dynamic, meteoric and explosive explos-ive one. From her earliest days in Texas, Betty keeps her eyes fixed on an objective. She wants success, wealth and fame and when a wild west rodeo roars into town, Betty's part of the show when, the rodeo pulls out. There's no holding the bomb-. bomb-. shell after that. Betty takes Bropdway by storm and in that period of the roaring 'twenties, called the "era of wonderful nonsense," she's soon the toast of the town. |
