Show Artists To Meet At Zion Canyon LOGAN, Utah Federated Artists of Utah will hold its first annual art festival at Spring-dale, Spring-dale, Zion Canyon, in conjunction conjunc-tion with the formal opening of the Springdale Mormon craft village and annual home-coming, June 16, 17, and 18, announced an-nounced Prof. Floyd Cornaby, head of the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College Art Department Depart-ment here and federation president. All Utah artists and crafts-1 men are invited to send entries' to the out-door festival show to be held on these three days at Springdale. No entry fee will be charged of federation members. Non-member artists may exhibit ex-hibit three paintings or other works of art by paying one dollar and non-member craftsmen crafts-men fifty cents. From this show, the Mormon craft village management hopes to organize a permanent exhibit for its salesrooms to be sold to tour ists. 1 During the last year, under the direction of Bishop Julius Madsen of Springdale, originator origina-tor of the idea, significant strides have been made in organizing or-ganizing a Mormon craft Tillage Til-lage and in developing shops and personnel for the manufacture manu-facture of a wide range of crafts objects, including jewelry, and metal, leather, textile and wood work Professor Cornaby reported. |
