Show Christmas Fete Plans Go Ahead A 30-ft. high mechanical Santa Clans will stand in the Su;.vr J louse plaza (hiring the v.'.'CX preceding C'a islmus one cf the features of the mammoth Yuletide celcbral ion being worked out for this section by a special committee of the Chamber of Commerce. , Already one giant Christmas ' tree has been erected in the plaza, and probably another, even larger, will be set up to form the centerpiece of the community com-munity display. The Sugar House Christmas celebration, designed to be the biggest thing of its kind ever attempted here, will feature street carol singers, window contests and similar attractions, on Dec. 20, 21. 22 nnrl 94. and on Saturday night. Dec. 22, a live Santa Claus will appear at the giant community tree and distribute free gifts to all the youngsters present. Horace A. Sorensen, president-elect of the chamber of commerce, is chairman of the chamber's special Christmas celebration committee working out details of the festival whicn it is expected will draw crowds throughout the week from all sections of the valley. It is the chamber's idea to make Sugar House the Christmas Christ-mas center of the west, and the city and county are helping to sponsor the event. " |
