Show "THIS and THAT IN SUGAR HOUSE WARD" by Leah Bond Last Sunday evening a surprise sur-prise greeted hose attending the sacrament meeting. A change was made in our bishopric. Veii W. Teiples was released from his duties as counselor to Bishop Rawson and Henry Anderson, former ward clerk, was made a j counselor. Ill health made it necessary for Verl Teeples to be released and his friends vish him well and a quick return to good health. In spite of the fact the general conference will be in session in the tabernacle, a meeting will held Sunday evening in the ward. Joseph L.. Wirthin of the presiding bishopric will be the speaker for the evening. Mrs. Thomas M. Wheeler of 1901 So. 10th East returned last week from a visit to El Paso, Texas. To make the acquaintance acquaint-ance of her newest granddaughter granddaugh-ter was the occasion for the trip. The little baby girl born August Aug-ust 24, is the firstborn of Bryan 1 Wheeler and his wife. i ( Another new arrival, on Sep- , tember 12, is a baby girl for the Keith Dallimores who are now making their home at 2321 18th East street. Several of the young fellows from Sugar House ward added their bit to the cast of "Prepare David Winkler, Le Roy Turner, Robert Parry, Robert Morris and Gene Cottrell were the boys whose bit helped to make the 1 production a success. Mrs. Norma White of the Re-Wei Re-Wei Society is in the hospital recovering re-covering from an operation. A speedy recovery is wished her by her friends. Dr. E. Allen Bateman was the guest speaker Tuesday evening for the M. I. A. Special Interest group. A great deal of effort is being put forth to create interest inter-est in this group. All the young married couples in the ward are invited to attend. The subject for the first quarter is "Building a Latter-day Saint Home." It's good to see the Smiths at home again. Jerry and Nellie have just returned from a three months tour of the British Isles. Mrs. Elva Anderson 2123 So. 13th E. is the newly appointed member of the Stake Primary Board. She will teach the Seagull Sea-gull class. Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Plow-gian Plow-gian have just returned from a wonderful vacation trip. They visited Bryce and Zion canyons, Grand canyon and Boulder Dam. Ye the Way" which just completed com-pleted five performances in the tabernacle. Clark Fawson, Low-( ell Fawson, Robert Sollberg, girls are from EMC. Debenham's Bakery, directly west of Sherman School on 23rd East, opened for business last Monday. LeRoy R. Henriksen, son of Mrs. J. M. Henriksen, 2822 South 20th East was honored at a missionary mis-sionary farewell last Sunday, Sept. 28, in the Grandview Ward Chapel. Elder Henriksen will leave soon to fulfill a mission J,c Norway. He is a graduate of South High and has been attending at-tending the University of Utah. |
