In addition to this group, Ken Sutherland and Bob Tregeagle were installed as tail-twisters, tail-twisters, Joe McDonald as Lion tamer, J. R. Nichol and Dr. L. D. Burbidge as one-year directors, Web Richards as immediate past president, and George Crow-ther Crow-ther and Mel Wright as two-year two-year directors. , The retiring officers, given a vote of thanks for their outstanding out-standing work during the pas,t year are, in addition to Web, Wayne Shaw, first vice president; Lloyd Springett, 2nd vice president; presi-dent; Wayne Nichol, third vice president; Roy Hobbs, secretary; S. C. Gaddie, treasurer; Harold Bennion, Lion tamer; Joe Mallory, Mal-lory, tail twister. The party was a gala affair with Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Al-dous Al-dous being presented orchids, and all of the ladies receiving corsages. The first .'board meeting of the new administration will be held next Tuesday at the home of Pres. Aldous at 8 p.m. Mean- provements, and setting aside one day a week other than Sun-I Sun-I day for community developments develop-ments in preparation for the Centennial celebration in 1917. 5. Directing reactivation of Lions traffic safety program. 8. Full indorsement in-dorsement and support of United Nations plan. 9. Formulation of a plan for conducting student speaking contest in the state. 10. Urging clubs to protect and assist veterans rights. 11. Expression of appreciation to Lee Lovinger. Salt Lake City, for efforts in care of the blind. It was decided next year's convention con-vention would be held in Logan. Two of the club members will leave by car with their families this week for a trip in the east during which they will attend the nternational convention in Philadelphia as delegates from this club. They are John Has-lam Has-lam and Web Richards. , At the state convention in Cedar Ce-dar City recently resolutions adopted covered a wide variety of subjects, including: 1. Pledging expansion of the Lions welfare and'public health program 2. Urging state, county coun-ty and city officials to repaint and improve highway and street signs throughout the state. 3. Urging immediate action on the proposed polio hospital. 4. Directing Di-recting Lions clubs to set up committees for community im- |
