Show Legion Stag Wednesday Hans are rapidly taking shape for the annual stag party of the Sugar House Post 65 American Legion to be held at Fairmont Park, Wednesday, June 20, according to Carl Brown, post commander. Don McDonald, second vice commander, com-mander, is chairman of arrangements ar-rangements for the event and is working up a lively program. The post's new drum and buglecorps, numbering 20 members, mem-bers, made its first formal appearance ap-pearance at Memorial Day exercises ex-ercises at the State Capitol and acquitted itself very creditably. Cliff Husbands is manager of the corps and Guy Christensen is director. The corps holds rehearsals re-hearsals every Tuesday nignt at the IOOF hall and is rapidly developing de-veloping into a finished military musical organization. The corps performed again at the annual district Legion convention in Bingham last Saturday Sat-urday night, and the Sugar House post carried off top honors hon-ors at the conclave, receiving citations for records, Americanism, American-ism, their membership campaign cam-paign and their World War II liaison program. The buglers and drummers scored again last Thursday night, participating with the Elks club in Flag Day observance observ-ance at the capitol, where they took charge of the flag ceremony. |
