Rosecret Ward to Dedicate Chapel On Fourth Birthday, July 155 1949 contribute to the building fund is invited to do so. Up to 15 per cent deduction is allowed for such donations under the1 Federal Income Tax law. Bishop Haight Tells History of Ward to Show Need of Concentrated Fund Drive Rosecrest Ward was organized July 15, 1945, having taken its membership partly from the Grandview and East Mill Creek Wards. Its population at that time was 850. Boundaries of the ward are: Connor Street on the west, 27th South on the north, 33rd South on the south, and the Wasatch Mountains on the east. Since its organization, Rosecrest has shared Grandview Ward's chapel at 2900 South 20th East. Grandview Ward is now ready for another division, since it has more than 1600 members. It is contemplated that Grandview will be divided some time after Rosecrest moves into its new chapel. Over 1300 Members Rosecrest Ward has 600 homes within its boundaries and over 1300 members, including the now famous "Homeless Veterans, Inc." subdivision. Location for the Rosecrest Ward chapel now under construction construc-tion is 3101 So. 23rd East, on a 2Ya acre plot of ground. There will be sufficient space for parking, plus a large recreation area to consist of horseshoe pits, tennis courts and picnic grounds. Ward summer outings will be held on the chapel grounds. Description of chapel has been written by Arnold Ehlers and will be found on page 2. A unique feature of the chapel is that it is being planned to handle two wards when necessary without congestion. W7ith the rapid growth of this area it is anticipated that the Rosecrest Ward will also have to be divided soon. However, How-ever, there will be no immediate need for a new chapel because the Rosecrest chapel has been designed to meet that need. $130,000 Project All the brick work is done and workers are -now putting the roof on. It is planned that the chapel will be completed in time for its dedication on the ward's 4th birthday, July 15, 1948. Cost of the chapel will be $130,000 when completed. About $35,000 is needed to complete fund drive. Since the Rosecrest chapel is the only one in this section, we invite everyone to come and worship. The ward will be used for the benefit of all.
