Show Granite School Officials Return From Convention School officials Joseph A. Westra, Granite School District purchasing agent, and Dow P. Brian, clerk of the Board of Ed-ucationreturned Ed-ucationreturned this week from a ten-day trip to St. Louis where they attended the School Business Busi-ness Officials annual convention. conven-tion. Discussion and studies at the Oct. 10-14 convention included such important subjects as: accounting ac-counting methods, purchasing equipment, school lunch programs, pro-grams, transportation, constru tion and maintenance of school buildings, school supplies, rec reational equipment and manufactured manu-factured items. The two men met with 1145 other school officials from all over the' United States at convention con-vention headquarters in the Jefferson Jef-ferson Hotel. Business meetings meet-ings took up the great part of the convention, but some recreational recre-ational programs were provided i for. One of the most enjoyable excursions, according to Mr. Brian, was visiting world-famous Forest Lawns Zoo. Mr. Westra and Mr. Brian traveled by car, taking the northern route to St. Louis and the southern route home. School Business Officials' convention con-vention will be held in Boston next year. -- |
