Show Local Sewing Machine Firm Moves Uptown Now located in a smart new shop in downtown Salt Lake is Williams Sewing Machine Co., which for the past ten months was situated at 1251 East 21st South. New shop is at 159 South State St. in the Congress Con-gress (Hotel Building. Since the shop was opened up in Sugar House in October 1948, the company has grown from, two to seven employes, according accord-ing to Mr. )Elwood M. Williams, manager. Associated with him. in the ownership of the business busi-ness is his brother, Clyde E., : who was the other original member of f.he firm. Expansion is noted in other aspects of the business. Originally Orig-inally selling and servicing Mercury Mer-cury Service machines only, the Williams Company now handles New (Home Sewing Machine products and has shop facilities to repair all makes of machines. In addition, Mr. Williams pointed out that salesmen now cover the entire state, instead of just the industrial areas.
