Show Japs Capture 'Peking Man' 4,000 Centuries Too Late CHUNGKING. The famous "Peking "Pe-king Man" skull, believed by anthropologists anthro-pologists to be 400,000 years old, has been seized by the Japanese and sent to Tokyo, according to information informa-tion received from Peiping (Peking) recently. The skull, known academically as Sinanthropus pekinensis, had disappeared disap-peared from its case at Union Medical Medi-cal college, a Rockefeller-endowed institution. The skull, complete with jaws, was hailed as one of the modern world's greatest archeological discoveries dis-coveries when it was excavated at Chnukoutsien. ncr Peioicr. |
