LIVE HOG PRICES TO GET CEILING The Office of Price Adminstra-tion Adminstra-tion has announced that definite plans are being made to place a price ceiling on live hogs. Officials Offic-ials also have indicated that simil-iar simil-iar action in the near future is contemplated with reference to cattle prices. HOSPITALS TO GET ALL NEEDED SUGAR Hospitals principally engaged in the care of persons acutely ill will be able to provide patients the same amount of sugar used last year as a result of a change in the sugar rationing regulations announced by OPA. TYPEWRITER RENTAL BN INVOKED The OPA has announced a ban on the rental of new typewriters and used non-portable machines manufactured since January 1. 1935, and has ordered the return by September 15 of typewriters manufactured subsequent to date which are now on loan. Persons eligible to purchase machines under un-der existing conditions and regulations reg-ulations are not affected by the order. OPA officials warn that all sales of used typewriters by individuals in-dividuals or firms, even though not regularly engaged in the sale rental or repair of typewriters are specifically covered by Maximum Max-imum Price Regulation No. 162. INDUCTEES MUST SURRENDER SUGAR RATION BOOKS Men who are inducted into the armed services are required to surrender their sugar ration books to their local war price and rationing boards, OPA officials state. It is illegal for the family of an inductee to use his ration book, and the regulations specifically specif-ically provide for the surrende" of books to local boards immediately immedia-tely after induction.
