Parsons, 22-yeat-ild Salt Lake Marine of 603 Wilson Avenue and a graduate of the University of Utah, has successfully success-fully completed the rigorous ten week Candidate's Class training at Quantico, Virginia and is now commissioned a second lieutenant in the famed Leatherneck fighting fight-ing forces, it was officially learned learn-ed this week. The newly commissioned officer offi-cer will now be sent to Reserve Officers school, also located at Quantico, Virginia where for three months, he will study advanced miliatry science and tatics. This will fit him for command of a platoon in the field. Or, he may be sent to a specialist's school for additional work. While in college, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Parsons majored major-ed in geology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree He is a member of Sigma Gamma Epsilon fraternity. Lieutenant Parsons enlisted in the Corps at Salt Lake City. m |
