Show Serg. Elizabeth Allen The first "noneom" of the U. S. Marine Corps Women Reserve to visit Utah has arrived in Salt! Lake City to interview applicants for enlistment in this branch of the service. She is Sergeant Elizabeth L. Allen, former Salt Laker and -a member of the Hrst USMCWR class to graduate from Hunter College, New YorK City, where recruits re-cruits in the reserve receive their basic training. Sergeant Allen, who gave up a lucrative position in industry to seek a wartime career in the Marines, will be at room 230 Federal Fed-eral Building, Salt Lake City, all thi3 week and the week of May 24. During the coming week she will be at Pocatello, Idaho. Women between 20 36 are eligible elig-ible to enlist for general duty in the Women's Reserve, ;ergeant Allen said. They will not be regarded re-garded as members of an auxiliary auxil-iary but will be actual members of the Marine Corps. In helping to free the men of the Corps for combat duty, they be entitled to the same rights and privileges as the men and will carry the same responsibility of serving their country faithfully and well. Those who are accepted for enlistment, en-listment, she said, will be sent to Hunter College for four weeks of training, after which they will either receive further training in a specialized field or be assigned to a Marine base for immediate duty.
