Show Public Health Local health off ices rreported a total of 521 cases of communi-j cable diseases to the Utah State Board of Health for the week ending May 16. This is an increase of 85 cases over the preceeding week. The increase is due largely large-ly to the greatrr number of cases cas-es of chickenpox and whooping cough. One hundred cases of whooping cough werre reported as comparr-ed comparr-ed with 50 for the week ending May 9. These were reported largely large-ly from Box Elder, Salt Lake and Weber counties. One case of diphtheria and one case of amoebic dysentery were reported from Salt Lake City. A total of 8 cases of gonorrhea and 20 cases of syphilis was reported re-ported for the weey. Other diseases were reported as follows; chickenpox 122, influnnza 12, measles 63, German measles 145, mumps 24, pneumonia 11, scarlet fever 9, and tubculoeis 5. Cedar . City and the following counties reported "no diseases:" Daggett, Duchesne, Grand, Irron, Morgan, Rich, and San Juan. |
