Show Legion to Push Bond Sales With the battle cry of "We j did it once we can do it again," I veterans of the World War of 1917 members of the American Legion of Utah, and members of their auxiliary will take up the battle again in August, this time on the Homo Front. The American Legion and the Auxiliary have taken over the sponsorship of August bond sales for the state under the title of the "American Legion August Bond Harvest." They hope to reap a harvest of $4,000,000 in bonds and stamps to help the war effort. They hope to furnish the arms and ammunition for their sons, now that they are no longer young enough to bear them themselves. They hope to beat the Germans again as they did before. The state committee for the August Bond Harvest is headed by John M. Wallace, SalC Lake City banker, as chairman; George E. Larsen, commander of the Legion, Leg-ion, and Mrs. Frank Anderson, commander of the auxiliary, as vice-chairman; clem S. Schramm, post commander, as liason officer between the committee and the legion and the auxiliary: Art Horsley, department adjutant as secretary; Stephen J. Moloney, department publicity chairman, in charge of publicity, and member of the state council of the Legion Leg-ion as committee member. Post commander of the Legion and Unit Commander of the Auxiliary Aux-iliary in all posts and units in this county and all other counties coun-ties of the state, have been requested re-quested to name post chairmen for the bond drives. The drive itself it-self will start on August 2 on a state level and will continue until un-til the quota is reached. Bach member of the Legion and Auxiliary Auxili-ary must buy or sell $350,00 in bonds during the month for the two organizations to reach their state quota. |
