Show Air Force Surgeon Tells Why Many Fail for Wings : NEW YORK. Maj. Gen. David N. W. It was for their own good, he said. "Despite the. disappointment of those who are eliminated," he said, . "we have proved over and over again that our elaborate and scientific scien-tific tests save lives as well as time, money and manpower. Those (who are eliminated would most likely like-ly make poor fliers. Poor fliers don't live long, especially in combat. |
