Show EMPLOYMENT STABILIZATION PROGRAM THE EMPLOYMENT STABILIZATION STABILIZ-ATION PROGRAM EFFECTIVE IN UTAH. The Employment Stabilization Program effective in Utah is based bas-ed upon War Manpower Commission Commis-sion Regulation No, 7 which provides pro-vides in part that statements of availability may be issued by ihe employer to an individual whose last employment was in an essential es-sential or locally needed activity when such employment is or was "at a wage or salary below a level established or approved by the National War Labor Board (or other agency authorized to adjust wages or approve adjustments adjust-ments thereof) as warranting adjustment, ad-justment, and the employer has failed to adjust the wage in accordance ac-cordance with such level or to apply ap-ply to the appropriate agency for such adjustment or approval thereof." Regulation No. 7 further provides that if the employer fails to issue the statement of availability availa-bility and this circumstance if found to exist, the Employment Service shall issue the statement of availability to the worker With the prior authorization of their . headquarters office in Washington, the Regional office of the National Labor Board in Denver passed a resolution on j March 18, changing the sub-stand , ard wage level effective in the states of Colorado, Montana, Wy-. Wy-. oming and Utah from 40 cents to 00 cents per hour. For employment stabilization purposes the new sub-standard wage level will become effective, in Utah on May 10, 1944. This means that in and after that date a worker employed at a wage below be-low the sub-standard level, in an essential or locally needed activi-l ty, will be entitled to a statement of availability "upon his request'' unless his employer has made application ap-plication to the National War Labor La-bor Board for adjustment at least to the sub-standard level. j |
