Show UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE APPLICATIONS AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OPEN" FOR APPLICATIONS Four year ago the policy and practice of selecting employees strictly on the basis of qualifications qualifica-tions was inaugurated in the state government of Utah. The first employees so chosen were from merit reisters established for the Department of Placement and unemployment un-employment Insurance after suitable suit-able examinations had been given under the supervision of a committee com-mittee of public spirited citizens who were not in any way connected connect-ed with the Department or with the Industrial Commission. These registers which were established es-tablished in 1937 and renewed in 1938 have served a good purpose pur-pose and dozens of individuals have been given permanent employment em-ployment with the Department of Placement and Unemployment Insurance as a result of having their names on those registers. However, these registers are now obsolete. And will be replaced by new ones to be established by examinations ex-aminations scheduled for the nea future. Anyone who is interested in employment in the field of un employment insurance or employ ment service should attempt to get his name on these new registers regis-ters as no one can be hired by the Department of Placement and Unemployment Insurance unless un-less his name is on these registers and unles his name is among the first three available on said register. reg-ister.
