Show BOARD OF HEALTH Reports from the local health officers to the Utah State Department De-partment of Health, for the week ending August 29, showed a marked improvement over the previous 'week. The total of J 21 cases of communicable disease was 21 fewer than the total reported for the previous week. However, the week's total was slightly in excess of the number of cases reported for the corresponding . week one year ago. Three cases of poliomelitis (infantile paralsis) was reported one from Salt Lake County and two from Salt Lake City. During 1941 a total of 15 cases of this disease has been reported, an encouraging en-couraging report when compared with 26 cases reported for the corresponding period in 1910 One case of typhoid fever was : reported from Box Elder County. I Whooping cough led the list with a total of 49 cases. Other communicable diseases were re- ported as followes: Chickenpox, 25, syphilis 15, influenza 1, measles meas-les 3, German measles 5, scarlet fever 2, tuberculosis 2, gonorrhea I 7, and septic sore throat 2. i Twelve of the 29 counties in the State reported "no disease." |
