Show Junior Red Cross members, under the supervision of Mr. William Wil-liam Bartlett, at Jordan School, have completed an unusual and beautiful exhibit of the Utah State flower, the Sego Lily, which is to be sent to the Red Cross Society So-ciety of South Africa for jheir annual convention. Those young artists who participated par-ticipated are Sharlene Zitting and Nancy Nelson, 7th grade, Midvale Jr. High; Suellen Rasmussen and Claudia Butterfield, 9th grade at West Jordan Jr. High; and Dianne Shoemaker and Thomas Bishop, 9th grade at Mount Jordan Jr. High. The public is invited to view further fur-ther art work on exhibit at the American Red Cross Bldg. at 555 Foothill DriVe in the City. Red Cross Lists Blood Production For April Salt Lake County blood program participating groups were contacted contact-ed during April to send donors to the Center. Production figures for April are as follows: 1,250 pints, on hand, 170 pints, from other centers, 108 pints. One of the most frequent requests re-quests for service is to aid in arranging for emergency leave or extension of leave for members of the Armed Forces. Another call on the Red Cross for help is the assistance given at the large Confernences, for instance, the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, when first aid was rendered to many participants. First aid training is urged for the public as we are facing an emergency in Civil Defense at any time. |
