The theme was 'Lil of the orchestra Abner" and the dress was likewise. and A Cappella Choir will be de-voted . t o pre-senting a Spring Concert t o members of the c o m m u nity. This. e v e n t sponsored by the Free games, re-freshments, and dancing was on the agenda. Friday night was the Sophomore Class Party and its theme was C y 1 o p ' s Chaos." Both senior and sophomore class officers worked real hard on putting over an enjoyable evening for the students. Well, Friday, April Fool's Day, was also Report Card Day. What a day to receive report cards I During first period Friday, an announcement was mde that due to excessive absentees, report cards would not be distributed until Monday. But to much dismay, a later announcement was made stating that this was not an April Fool's joke after all, and reports would be distributed as orginally planned. Woe be it, but that's the way things go. The beard-growe- rs are work-ing hard at making their beards grow. One week is left until the final judging takes place at the Mens Association Western Round-U- p Dance. Til be sure and give all of you readers the final results next week. school and the PTA will be pre-sented Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m. in the Highland High School auditorium. Tickets may be pur-chased at the door for 25 per person. The PTA urges everyone to anend this worthwhile event which is an excellent way for a family to spend a Sunday afternoon. The afternoon's program will feature the Choral Movement "Joy" by Crawford Gates with Lyrics by Jon Beck. Paul G. Christensen, director of the A Cappella, and E. LaVar Krantz, orchestra director, have been conducting practice sessions for the two groups. Election procedures are in full swing at Highland this week with 'candidates making posters, pre-senting skits, and participating in many other activities in order to gain votes. On Thursday, April 7, a Pep Day (Primary Election Preview) was held in the tennis courts during the lunch periods. Candidates were allowed to perform any kind of skit in order to gain attention from the passing students. Primary elections will be held Friday, April 8, with final voting set for Wednesday, April 13. supported in this program by Mrs. H. E. Updegraff and her committee. We wish to give these Ladies a vote of thanks for their outstanding efforts to alert our membership this year to become aware of the need for Home Preparedness, and just exactly what we could do about it. BO Binlnfey The Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club will hold its Nineteenth Annual Birthday Party Wednesday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Harman's Cafe in Sugar House with Mrs. Ted Miller pre-siding, announces Mrs. Arietta Elton, public relations chairman. A special tribute to the past presidents of the club willbegiven by Miss Mary Louise Gilmer, chairman of the Hospitality Committee. She has arranged a wonderful program featuring our vice-preside- nt, Mrs. J. M Redd, who will evaluate our year's study on the Mature Woman Worker. The Club Collect will be given by Mrs. Eleanor P. Elton of the Public Relations Committee. Special birthday dinner arrange-ments will be made by Mrs. George Garwood. Beautiful Easter table decorations will be arranged by Mrs. Myrtle Fehr, Mrs. K. C. Anderson, Mrs. Walter McKean, Miss Liira Rue and Mrs. Leora C. Izatt. The musical program will be presented by Mrs. Max Lloyd, featuring a male quartette, The Tonichords; lead is Joe Koepic, tenor, Max Lloyd, baritone, Paul Nielsen and bass, Carl Hancuff. A special feature will be pre-sented by Mrs. C. W. Picht. She will introduce Mrs. Erma Anderson, manager of the Hat Salon of Keith O'Brien Department Store in Sugar House, who will sponsor a lovely parade of Easter Bonnets. An Induction Ceremony for new members will be conducted by Mrs. A. L. Cooley, chairman of the Mmebership committee. Hospitality hostess will be Mrs. Elliot Willden. National Security items will be Home Safety by Mrs. Anne Belle Brown and Conelradby Mrs. J. O. Ritchie. Each month this year our National Security Committee has presented some phase of Home Preparedness which has been the theme of our National Federation Security Committee this year.
