These two oh-so-eaay maple-blended sauces are "tops" for simple "snowballs" scoops of your favorite ice cream rolled in flaked coconut. Try the sauces on pancakes, waffles, French toast and hot gingerbread, too! Date Maple Syrup cup finely sliced 1 cup Log Cabin Syrup California dates 2 tablespoons butter or H cup water margarine Simmer dates in water until slightly soft, about 2 minutes. Add syrup and butter and bring just to a boil. Makes about V cups syrup. Maple Orange Raisin Syrup 3 tablespoons butter or cup orange sections margarine H cup dark, seedless raisins 1 cups maple-blended syrup Melt butter in a saucepan. Add syrup, orange sections, and raisins. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Remove cover and simmer 3 minutes longer. Makes about 2 cups syrup. |
