Show Sugar House, Utah Thursday, March 28, 1957 SOUTH EAST INDEPENDENT " page 3 Woman s World By Cfene Koeolg Delta Delta Set Fashion Show The Delta Delta Delta Sorority held their annual fashion show and luncheon Saturday, March 23 in the lovely setting of the new union building, on the University of Utah Campus. Childrens fashions were shown by the Dick and Jane Shops and Adrien N Emilie of the Mode Milliney represented fashions for the ladies. Mrs. Burt H. Davis was chairman of the very successful event. Over 700 ladies were in attendance. Mrs. Joseph A. Kjar had charge of the cake and candy sale and Mrs.Warrcn M. Hughes handled the tickets. Mrs. B. D. Blackhurst and her committee had decorated the hall beautifully, using a spring theme. Pink carnations were placed at each table and arranged tastefully, about the room. Part, of the money received from the sale of tickets will be used for a local scholarship at the University of Utah. Seen at Mrs. Benson L. Hatha-way- 's table, was Mrs. Herbert B. Maw, Mrs. John Astin, and Mrs. G. C. Spratt and daughter Mrs. L. L. Palmer. Mrs. Hathaway is President of the Tri-De- lt Alumnus. Also seen were Mrs. Ralph Ed-wards, Mrs. Richard Barton, Mrs. Robert Dafger, Mrs. Rodney P. Dickson, Mrs. Moe McCullough, Mrs. Howard Bradshaw, Mrs. Wm. K.. West, Mrs. Frank Allen, Mrs. Tom Cuthbert . and Mrs. Larry Raty. Hyland View Ward Sponsors Dance Great fun is expected at the Hiland View Ward .Wednesday, March 27. With the MIA Presi-dency supervising, a Disc Jockey Dance is being held for all of mutual age. Three kinds of vegetables carrots, peas and corn are combined with sour cream and flaky tuna to produce a real taste treat Coarsely crumbled, round but-tery crackers lend extra rich flavor and crispness to the dish. Here's how to make it: Hi Ho Vegetable Scramble 1 No. 2 can peas and carrots, U teaspoon pepper ! : drained 1 tablespoon grated onion 1 12-o- z. can kernel corni . 1 z. can sliced mushrooms, drained drained ' 1 7-o- z. can tuna, broken 1 cup coarsely crumbled Sun-- ' h in pieces shine Hi Ho Cracker crumbs , 1 cup thick sour cream 3 tablespoons melted butter ; teaspoon salt or margarine ' Heat oven to 325 F. (slow oven). Combine peas and carrots, corn, tuna, sour cream, salt, pepper, onion and mushrooms. Pour into 1H quart casserole. Combine Hi Ho crumbs and melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle over vegetable mixture. Bake at 325 F. for 20 minutes or until crumbs are lightly browned and mixture hot. ; Makes 4 to 6 servings. Myrl Cowles Weds H. Bret Bailey Myrl Manwaring Cowles, like-able PBX operator at Granite Furniture Co., has taken on a new name. She became the bride of H. Bret Bailey, a professional musician, March 14 In a private ceremony. The new Mrs. Bailey has been working at the Granite store since January. She is residing at 1204 E. 7th South.
