April 30 and May 1 have been set aside as the dates for the presentation of the George Gershwin Gersh-win operetta, "Girl Crazy". I Decorations, under the direction of Gail Braithwaite, are to be very simple DUt extremely elegant. The j colors of pink, lavendar, and silver will carry out the theme. The center of interest will be a fountain head set off by these colors. Friday, March 29, spotlighted a dance sponsored by the Laurel Club, a senior girl's club. The dance was under the direction of President Dortha Gerrard and her other officers: Joyce Norton, Judy Larsen, and Sharon Jacobson. Only the members of the club and special friends were invited. "Sea Symphony" was the theme around which the decorations were based. Last Thursday evening", vocal and instrumental groups from Olympus High School participated in - the ' Granite District Music Festival held' at Granite High School. Combined orchestras, bands, girl's choruses, boy's choruses, and acapella choirs participated. At the conclusion of selected vocal and instrumental numbers, a finale, "One World", was presented pre-sented by the combined choruses , and orchestras. This was conducted 1 by Mr. Marvin H.. Strong, district music supervisor. |
