Show J Life With Lynne Hi there! Happy Thanksgiving a little belated. be-lated. I'm a fine one to wish everyone ev-eryone a Happy Thanksgiving, when Christmas is almost here. The other night when there was a big golden moon up in the inky blue sky, Maysie Kimball and Joanne Doyle had a "Harvest Moon" party at Maysie's house. ' There were at least 30 moon -struck guests and I was the only loyal-"Titan," and all the rest of them were loyal "Farmers" and "Farmerettes." The party started out with a Scavenger Hunt in which we were asked to find some of the most ridiculous things a flower from the cemetery, an old shoe, some sandpaper, an unbroken egg shell, an old hat, a lady's nylon stocking (ahem), a purple button and many others. Then our evening was topped off with a dance among the different shades of crepe paper that decorated dec-orated the affair. I had an experience I won't forget for-get and I'm sure that a lot of other oth-er kids won't either. The psychology psych-ology and Heredity classes of Olympus High went on a field trip to the Training School in American Am-erican Fork and the Mental Hos-Dital Hos-Dital in Provo. We left the school at 8:30 a.m. on a Thursday on chartered buses and reached the Training School at 9:30 aim. Many Ma-ny things were explained to us about how the school was operated operat-ed and what they did for the patients. pa-tients. We saw many of the patients pat-ients and were explained about their conditions and what was being be-ing done for them. Then we went to Provo and each class was assigned as-signed a certain ward where they were to go and put on a program for the patients. Some of the patients pa-tients couldn't talk or hear, but the look in their eyes was enough to let us know that they were thrilled that we cared enough to do something for them. Having that experience let me realize how blessed we are to just have our good health besides all the other wonderful things we have in this life. 1 T hope everyone in this "world had as nice a Thanksgiving as I; did. I was filled with many emotions emo-tions that I can't explain as I sat at our table on Thanksgiving with a Horn of Plenty as the center-, piece and a fire on the grate. I have only one wish for everyone and that is that we will all real-: ize our blessings and wish them for people who aren't as fortunate fortun-ate as we are. j Bye Now, Lynne I |
