Other families in their church will have a hard time keeping up wit the Joneses. Mrs. Robert M. Jones has registered six of her seven children for vacation church school at Holladay Community Church (Congregational). They are Stephen, 14; Judith, 13; David, 11; Robin, 9; Susan, 7 and Ann, 5. Too young for this year's session js Bobby, 4. The Joneses got a bargain. Though the school costs a dollar a child, no family need pay more than three dollars. Mrs Jones hopes to line up rides for the six children by the time school starts August 5. She can't drive and Mr. Jones, who is superentendent of shop and util-ities at the University of Utah, has a broken arm. So the family car has to stay put at 1896 Wood-sid-e Drive for the time being. The school at Holladay Comm-unity Church, 2631 East 48th South will run from 9 a.m. till 11:30, Mondays through Fridays, for two weeks. Late registrations will be taken at the church Sun-day morning. Dr. J. Peter Bercovitz, consult-ant in Christian training at the church is in charge of the staff of 33. Woman's World By Gene Koenlg Mrs. Bowers Feted By Family Outing Mrs Maria H. Bowers of 2042 Hollywood Ave. recently celebrated her seventy-fift- h birthday with her children and their families. Mrs. Bowers was born Maria Heaton on July 21, 1882 in Order-vill- e, Utah. She married Isiah L. whom are still living. Mr. and Mrs. Bowers in Orderville and they had a family of ten children, eight of Bowers made their home in Order-ville until thenty years ago when Mr. Bowers passed away, eince that time Mrs. Bowers has spent most of her time with her children and their families. Her children are grant A. Bowers, 2042 Hollywood Ave,. Isaiah M. Bowers Sr., 1724 Re-don- do Ave., Mre Alice Barnnurst, 1167 Bryan Ave., all of Salt Lake City, and Leigh Bowers, Draper, Chris Bowers, American Fork, Mrs. Harriet Hardy, LaVerkin, Hoyt Bowers, St. George and Clyde Bowers, Parawan, all residents of Utah. To commorate their mothers birthday they met togather and camped at Parawan canyon. Most of her children, grand-childre- n, and great grandchildren were able to be there. Mrs. Bowers has fifty three desendents, eight children, twenty three grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. S. E. Lady Lions Fete Husbands At Party A circus theme was carried out at the party Tuesday even-ing given by the South East Lady Lions for their husbands. The lovely affair was given at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Paul V. Jamison, 2438-25t- h East. The swimming pool provided cool entertainment for the early evening and a delicious buffet dinner was served at 7 p.m. Typical circus decorations bright-ened the pool edges and the garden. In charge of arrangements for the fun evening: were Mrs. Charles Sevens, Mrs. Hayden Calvert Mrs. LeCrande Bollschweiler, Mrs' Pau Hessler, Mrs. Daniel M Smith, Mrs. William A. Thompson, Mrs. Sidney G. Baucom, Mrs J Richard Andersen. n A luncheon is being planned for Mrs. Bonnie Worthen, visiting from White Sands, and Mrs, Marie Crosbie, from San Francisco. Roses and ice cream chairs have been planned for the festive affair, given by Mrs. Lewis Rock-woo- d, sister of Mrs. Worthen, and Mrs. Marjorie Scott. Guests are Mrs. Virginia Howe, sister of Mrs. Crosbie; Mrs. Marianne McMurdie Mrs. Ruth Rohde, Mrs. Marjorie Scott, Helen McCullough, Mrs. Marguerite WThitney. Mrs. Bett Hostess At Bridge Luncheon Mrs. J. H. Bett was hostess at a lovely bridge luncheon at the Beau Brummel Friday. Appointments were laid for eight guests including Mrs. E. D. Valen-tine, Mrs. Ray Phillips, Mrs. Effie Heath, Mrs. Silas Ford, Mrs. Alice Page, Mrs. Phineas Hughing and Mrs. Harry Goldstein. Slumber Party At Bale Home Entertains MIA Girls The Mutual girls of East Mill Creek Fourth Ward had a slumber party on Tuesday night, July 23, at the home of Mrs. Delsa Hale. Snacks, popcorn balls, and candy were enjoyed and no one went to sleep, traditionally, until the wee hours of the morning. LaRue Long-de- n, of the General Presidency of the MIA spoke to the girls about Growing up Gracefully. Lucille Whiting, Mrs. Delsa Hale, and Ruby Richards were in charge of the party, and served a delicious breakfast after the talk. Sunday school teachers and their partners were guests of the East Mill Creek Fourth Ward at a party given by the Sunday School-Presidency- , Lincoln Kanner, Karl the lawn of the Karl Hale home. They enjoyed a barbecue with all the trimmings. A program includ-ed stories and songs and then a swim at Ken Wiseman's lovely new swimming pool, climaxed the vening. Memorial Services The Wasatch Navy Mothers Club no. 796 will hold Memorial services and Draping of the Charter fon Marie N. Htnsen, one of their members, who passed away July 6. Services will be held at The Silver Crest Club, 245 So. loth East on August 8th at 8 p. m. A fine musical program has been arranged and all af Mrs Hansens friends are invited to attend.
