Show Servicemen Pvt. James B. Simper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Simper, 1675 E. 48th South, recently participated in field training exercises with the 24th Infantry Division in Germany, Simper, an automatic " rifle-man rifle-man in Company B of the division's 34th . Infantry in Augsburg, entered the Army in March of this year and received basic training at Fort Carson, Colo. He was stationed at Fort Johnson, S. C, and arrived in Europe in September of this year. He attended the Vernal High School. Army PFC Ned Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Jones, 1870 E. 3355, South, recently participated with the 8th Division's Infantry in combat com-bat effeciency training tests in Germany. Jones, an automatic rifleman rifle-man in the infantry's Company C in Mainz, entered the Army in November 1957 and received basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C, before arriving in Europe last May. The 19-year-old soldier attended at-tended Olympus, High School. He was employed by Business Printing in civilian life. Carl M. Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion V?'. Bennett, 3172 S. Third E., recently was promoted to first lieutenant at Fort Hood, Texas, where he is a member of the 15th Cavalry. Lietenant Bennett, who entered en-tered the, Army in March 1957, is executive officer of the 15th's Troop B. The 25 year old officer was formerly employed by Carl B. Hale Enterprizes. He was graduated grad-uated from Granite High School in 1952 and the University of Utah in 1956. His wife, Ardel, lives in Killeen, Texas. |
