Show Leaders Make Final Plans For United Fund Seven leaders in the radio, television and newspaper musical mus-ical world will meet Friday to finalize plans for the Salt Lake Area United Fund Show of Shows kick-off spectacular to be staged at Kingsbury Hall for United Fund campaign workers on September Sept-ember 23rd. Wendell J. Ashton, vice-president of Gillham Advertising Agency-Inc, Agency-Inc, is the general chairman with the following members of his committee: com-mittee: Harold (Hack) Woolley, Sales Manager, KTVT; Joseph A. Kjar, Manager, KSL Radio Station Sta-tion ; Conrad B. Harrfcton, Music Editor, Deseret News; Brent H. Kirt, Manager, KUTV; Lowell M. Durham, Music Editor, Salt Lake Tribune and Dean of Fine Department Depart-ment University of Utah; Howard L Blood, Public Relations director, Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company; John H.Klas, United Fund campaign chairman and public relations director for Safeway Stores, Inc. U ,i li , V'M i. r i ' V - ' - ','.'- " ' v . , , 1 Grant Third Ward softball, team won first place In Grant Stake and Division 14 plltty-off.; The team won their first game Tuesday evening in the All Church Tournament. The Grant Third has set a record for making All Church for the past five years. (The Independent Staff is especially proud for it's young printer, Don White, who can be seen on front row right, has been oa this team for three years). |
