Show duchesne county leaders organize planning board here will promote better farming better living through planned economy and studied farm program willard day named chairman ot of executive committee willard day of roosevelt a member of the duchesne county commission was elected chairman of the executive committee of the duchesne county planning board at a meeting of agriculture leaders and stock men representing various parts of the county held in the boyack chapter house in roosevelt saturday afternoon the meeting was called to discuss farm problems and ended with the organization of a planning board as a step forward in the solving oi 01 county agriculture and economic problems the purpose of the ward is to study conditions and through the cooperation of the people plan a long term program based on sound agriculture practices which will insure future pro gress and prosperity raise the standards of farming and living in the county and make it a better place in which to live the organization was perfected following three hours of discussion on farm problems and a talk by county agent carl G davis on the agriculture possibilities in duchesne county other members other members of the executive committee of the county planning board are claude lorg iorg of upalco vice chairman carl G davis of roosevelt secretary rex gardner of neola chairman of the committee on dairying bert lusty of arcadia chairman of the range and livestock committee loule louie galloway of roosevelt chairman of water distribution and irrigation mrs ed mowrey of roosevelt chairman of the turkey production committee ed conk tin of alt aft emmons chairman of rural electrification martha shanks of duchesne chairman of health mrs dorthella dastrup of Al tonah chairman of rural beautification clyde larsen of roosevelt chairman of the crop improvement pro committee miss aliss maude martin of roosevelt chairman of home management and B 0 colton collon roosevelt chairman of the committee on land use planning chaliman Chai Cha limen imen of the poultry and housing committees have not yet been named county districts to further the work of the executive committee and chairmen the county will be divided into five or six districts district planning boards smilar to the county beara boara board will be organized and through these district groups the county board hopes to keep in close contact I 1 with the people the chairman of each district board will automatically become a member of the counte board duchesne county agent carl G davis makes a special appeal to every person interested in agriculture to whole heartedly support the planning movement believing that the future success of agriculture in this county depends upon the cooperation of the people to build a sound program based on the fundamental principles of good agriculture practices Ch airmans statement willard day following his election as chairman of the executive committee of the county planning board made the statement which follows those of you who feel you have been fighting a lone battle with your farm and livestock problems and are not entirely discouraged cou raged will welcome the organization of the county planning board which is for your help and betterment As chairman of that organization I 1 would appreciate having every citizen of duchesne county acquainted with its purpose for I 1 know only through cooperative efforts will the reality of tomorrow surpass your visions of today |
