utopia theatre begins extensive remodeling project theatre will be enlarged I 1 new seats screen projection equipment installed work was started today on an extensive enlargement and remodeling project droit t at the utopia theatre in roosevelt which when completed will make it one of the finest small theatres theartres the atres in the state the stage will be torn out and moved back several feet to make room for additional rows of seats many of the old seats will be taken out and soft comfortable plush seats installed A new enlarged screen will replace the present one and new projection equipment of the white light type will produce larger pictures that are very clear and bright the entire back end of the hall will be remodeled and redecorated new exits will be built through the rear of the building and a beautiful gold title curtain operated electrically from the control room will be installed on either side of the screen baby spot lights and velour drapes will be placed front improvements As soon as weather permits in the spring the front of the theatre building will be torn out and a new modernistic front and neon lighted marquee put in the remodeling project includes enlarging the lobby and the construction of new rest rooms the newest and finest sound equipment was recently installed at the utopia
