early in the session by governor henry H blood the joint appropriations committee ot of the twenty second session monday presented an appropriations bill calling for to cover general fund expenditures for the ensuing biennium this is the largest appropriations irions bill ever presented to the legislature in the history of the state the grand total of the submitted appropriations exceeds the governors estimated revenues for the next two years by and no appropriation is carri carried for old age pensions which are u be paid from special funds ane anc which will call for an estimate estimates esti matec expenditure of a year representative gordon of salt lake chairman of the house group of the joint appropriations coan committee attee in submitting the budget bill and the accompanying revenue act said we hope for a balanced budget the representative said that the hope for sufficient revenues to cover the proposed appropriations lay in natural increases in revenues from sales tax increased revenue from liquor control more funds from tax changes new tobacco tax new severance tax new use tax bank taxes and taxes on interest bear ing deposits besides a numbe cumbe I 1
