Show feeder roads A few days agoa ago a couple of lokas fine citizens called in the office to find out what we thought about their attempting to secure some of the money recently allotted by the federal government for utah feeder roads for the improvement of farm to market roads from their locality the article announcing the appropriation of for roads in utah to be used as follows for federal aid roads for feeder roads for grade separation structures for main roads through nontaxable non taxable indian lands public lands and other public reservations appeared in the roosevelt standard about a month ago the boosters boasters bo from loka ioka felt that they should learn the opinions of residents along highway 40 before contacting the road commission the legislature or the governor if it would in any way interfere with the completion of highway 40 or if people think we should wait until 40 is finished we will they said our answer is why wait we have learned through our experience with highway 40 that no one gets anything without going after it the government has allotted and definitely stated that it is to be used for feeder roads some of this money should therefore be spent for improvement of feeder roads in the uintah basin and if loka ioka citizens are ambitious enough to get out and work for the money they deserve better roads going after funds for feeder roads will in no way interfere with the completion of highway 40 we believe highway 40 must be finished it is the last main highway in the state that is not hard surfaced funds have been set up for the completion of this main highway with the exception of the strawberry section which is almost sure to be taken care of out of this years appropriations for federal aid roads so we say to you hokans and residents of other small communities you have just as good a chance as any other town in the state to secure a part of this money to improve roads to your market go after it and get it and it if there is anything we can do to help we be glad to |
