Show C city ity park to be re seeded to lawn by order of city council COMMITTEE SELECTED BY MAYOR HEBER T HALL TO FOLLOW UP SPECIAL NIGHT WATCHMAN PROBLEM consisting OF councilmen WILKINS ATWOOD AND LABRUM HEW sprinkling SYSTEM FOR CITY PARK WILL LESSEN CHANCES OF A COMPLETE BURN UP SUCH AS HAPPENED LAST YEAR the roosevelt city council met inet in regular session monday alay with the mayor all members of the council the recorder treasurer attorney and marshal in attendance attendance councilman atwood reported that it had bad been deemed advisable to plow up the city park lot as the grass had died because of lack of water last year and the lot had gone to weeds after dis sion as to the proper thing to do it was decided to install a sprinkling system the cost ot at which was not to exceed and to replant the lot to lawn attorney ray E dillman gave gae an opinion on matters concerning the legal aspects of granting per miggion to install gasoline service pumps on the curb lines and atso also s 0 concerning the right of the city c council to grant permission for the use of the streets for private purposes As a result of this opinion to the following motions were passed that the attorney be instructed ted to draft an to the license ordinance making license fee of per quartee per pump where same is located on the curb motion by wilkins and seconded by at 01 that al C campbell campbeli be permitted to install gasoline service pumps on the curb line on main street at lots 78 7 8 block 5 plat A with tile the provision that the storage tanks be placed on the property back of the sidewalk line owing to the liabilities placed on the city through allowing the lunch stand to be placed on the street that the acion of the council of last meeting in granting permission to ross larson to set up said stand be reminded recin ded and that sir larson be requested to move the same oft off the abe street motion was further made in this matter that mr air larson be advised that the city had no objection to his placing the stand on oil private property the mayor stated that lie had interviewed a number of the business men and that they had expressed themselves as being willing to voluntarily contribute funds tor for the paying of a full time night marshal ile he appointed councilmen wilkins atwood and labrum to follow up this matter with the business busine sg interests councilman atwood reported that hat a check up had been made of the cleanup clean up day and that recommendation was made that the award offered be given to the boy scout troop that had supervision of the northern section ot of the city the recommendation was approved and the award made to troop no mayor hall reported that a 11 sanitary toilet had been erected under the direction of the FERA sanitation engineer on the city park |
