| Show finney explains colorado board washington acting secretary tin fin ney ot of the interior department said that secretary works purpose in ap pointing special advisers to investigate and report the facts concerning the boulder dam and other colorado river projects never contemplated that they should exercise any power as a commission the appointees were ap proved by the civil service commission as special advisers to the secretary mr finney said secretary work I 1 wants to know the facts surrounding proposed developments ot of the colorado river all he wants is that the men selected shall give him their impartial judgment on the merits of these developments it was never in tended that they should have any legal power or that their findings should be treated by the interior department except as advisory information each appointee will receive an allowance of 20 a day except senator waterman ot of colorado who will serve without compensation since he is already on the governments pay roll payments will be made out of the fund which congress allowed the interior department to make investigation of new reclamation projects |
