Show final touch given city streets saturday the finishing touches of roose belts excellent job of donation road work were applied saturday and the city streets wear a new and improved look that speaks eloquently of the zealous and untiring work of the loyal citizens of roosevelt and surrounding towns twenty six wagon loads of rock were hauled oft off the streets saturday and all of the streets beia raked over clay was hauled on the road from the bridge near the occidental seed plant to main street the boy scouts under the of mayor C I 1 johnson worked like beavers all day and set sei a shining example of what it means to do a good turn eighty six of them plied rakes and shovels front from early in the morning until late afternoon and set a pace that grownup grown up citizens of the town had difficulty in following I 1 the merchants that were unable to turn out paid for a number of men and teams the men were served luncheon at the patry cafe and mayor johnson gave the boy scouts a feed at his home that they will long remember vern allred had charge of the work credit Is due him and all who took part tor for the good work accomplished it is doubtful it if a finer example of hearted cooperation in civic improvement of a voluntary nature can be found in the state mayor johnson the men in charge and the citizens of the town and county including the boy scouts are to be congratulated upon their achievement |
