Show new officers selected to handle the U B I 1 C affairs for this year uintah mintah basin industrial convention will be held this year august 4 5 6 the election of officers of tah basin industrial convention for or this year took place at fort duchesne monday afternoon in the assembly hall president J P may called the meeting to order and gave a short talk on what hat had been accomplished during the past three years ile he urged the people of this great empire to increased creased lt cooperation stating that the U B IA C was one ot of the basins greatest assets A and afforded educational advant advantage ag e not obtained elsewhere in the state mr air may stated that he had been well pleased with the support of 0 the committee workers and at the same time especially praised the good work of secretary treasurer J 11 Crick enberger who had been an untiring worker during the past two years the following report of the secretary was read and accepted balance on hand april 1 1925 during the year 1925 there was collected from all sources making a total on hand of expended for all purposes leaving a balance on hand ot of upon motion of george phillips from myton a resolution was adopted commending the officers of the past year for the splendid work accomplished complis hed and extending them a vote of thanks the president then declared nominations in order a and n d called for the nomination of a president tor or the fourth annual convention george in a few chosen remarks preceding the nomination of C W walker tor for president spoke ot 0 the splendid research work in the mining and oil shale of 0 the basin and ot of his faithfulness in public work during the past few years upon motion by george 11 II harrlson harrison ot of roosevelt mr air walker was elected president by acclamation in the selection for vice president F A gross of fort duchesne and 1 I sander of vernal wore were nominated mr air sander explained that his business would not allow him much time to devote to such an important office and would much rather his bis name be withdrawn in favor of mr air gross mr air gross was then unanimously elected the matter of selecting a secretary took up considerable time as it was very evident the parties nom understood the time and responsibility attached to it the present secretary sir mr Crick enberger was asked to accept the position but declined the nomination as he would not be here this summer therefore he was released with a hearty vote of 0 thanks for his past work mr air Crick enberger then nominated george 11 II harrlson harrison of roosevelt L S thompson of fort duchesne was also nominated both of the above parties asking to have their names withdrawn and upon the nomination of george A wilson of 0 fort duchesne by george elliott mr air wilson was unanimously elected seven persons to act on the general committee was next in order fifteen people were nominated and voted on the seven receiving the highest number ot of votes were E peterson feterson vernal ray E dillman roosevelt mrs airs jane murray vernal george phillips myton mrs george 11 harrlson harrison roosevelt J A cheney yerna vernal campbell litster fort duchesne J P may alay then gave a short talk on the subject of a permanent pavilion in which to hold the convention each year the matter was held over until a meeting of a all 11 the general committee was held about 35 basin citizens were in attendance and declared themselves in favor of making the U 13 1 I C this year the best ever |
