Show FINDS SOLUTION FOR MANY CASES denver col march five appal ing cases of poverty and juvenile delinquency lin quency have been reported to the salvation army by members of county advisory boards recently established in approximately fifty counties of the intermountain inter mountain province according to Ile utenart colonel john W cousins commander of the province la each ease case relief has been given or measures have been taken to insure relief from the proper source these cases have all been reported from rural counties in which no organized effort is made to care for poverty juvenile delinquency unemployment americanization missing persons or illegitimacy if there has ever been any doubt in my mind that some such step is needed as we are now making it is dispelled after caring tor for these cases 0 C bortzmeyer provincial service manager said today this movement to link up the salvation army with the less populous sections of western states is a forward step in social science the salvation army policy prevents us malting making these cases public such publicity would destroy the confidence of the needy in the army the public however Is invited to visit our offices and examine the reports on these cases no worse conditions than we have found in some cases might be imagined As a practical example let me cite the case of a prosperous mountain town this town is burdened beyond its giving power with poor health seekers we are helping in the solution of the problem |
