in t eastern utah under the direction t of the government is promised H for 1915 according to A H kneal superintendent of the uintah and ouray agencies an extensive program designed to benefit the indians on the land and prospective white settlers has been mapped out involving an outlay for various improvements of approximately 5 industry on the part jbf of t indians s is is T to 0 be encouraged t ind and liberal allowances as rewards for industrious cultivation of lards lands and improvements that they will be made as inducements t to promote a higher state of efficiency among the encouragement to the settler tile the lands to be leased include tracts from forty to sixty acres and sometimes even more the lessee to enjoy all of the land productivity provided in the fourth and fifth years he be required to reimburse the department for the actual money advanced at the outset of cultivation the settler will enjoy many special privileges leges buchas such as permission to take timber posts and other material from the indian forest reserves the department often builds houses for the more thrifty settlers and every consider consideration aVion is given those who are faithful in their efforts to fo improve these valuable lands generally all privileges granted the indians are accorded the lessees lessels les sees as for instance lumber is furnished them at the very lowest cost and the privilege of grazing is being contemplated as an inducement to stock raising the sales of the valuable indian lands which are sold for the purpose of other allotment improvements and for subsistence that will take place this year will be I 1 held at F fort ort duche duchesne ane commencing april 6 and continuing during the season at monthly intervals these sales will be made to the highest bidder and sealed scaled bids will be received by the superintendent erin at any time prior to the commencing of the sale any would be purchaser or lessee will find the indian farmer at their
