Show Assessing f1et!ied For 1957 Property Tax Told Assessing of personal property in Duchesne County will be handled again this year by visits by the assessor and through the mailing of personal property statements state-ments to taxpayers listed on the 1956 tax record index. G. B. Workman, Work-man, county assessor, reports that these statements will be in he mail to most . of the taxpayers prior to January 1. , Field deputies will not be employed em-ployed to do assessing work.. Two office deputies will assist the assessor as-sessor during the early months of assessing and preparing the assessment assess-ment records for- 1957. Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Poulson is chief deputy, and Mrs. Edythe Marett is , assistant. Mr.-, Workman reports that the "by mail" ,, assessing .. which has been done in this county for several sev-eral years, has been very satis1-faatory. satis1-faatory. The taxpayer declares the personal property he owns as of January 1, 1957 and returns the statement , to the assesor's office for entering of values for assessment assess-ment purposes and other comple-, tion procedure and as a permanent perman-ent tax record. . . .Age of Livestock - The assessor instructs the taxpayer tax-payer to fill, in the number of Livestock,- machinery, or other personal per-sonal . property, in : the. space and correct category provided on the property declaration form. Age of livestock should be listed and the model or age and make of equipment equip-ment and machinery. In order to save for the taxpayer and the assessor's office, Mr., Workman asks that the person making the tax property declaration not fill in a value for any of the property, inasmuch as an equitable value for assesment purposes has been established and will be used in completing each personal property statment. In accordance with Utah law, these personal property statements state-ments are due in the assessor's office 21 days after receipt by the taxpayer. Business establishments establish-ments 'are allowed until Feb. 1 to file these statements without penalty, pen-alty, Mr. Workman said. |
