Show llllSIf SEASONAL CHATTER By Sugar 'N Spice TO MAKE STRAIGHT ROWS in the garden, make the first row as straight as possible, then turn the lawn mower upside down and, using the straight row as a guide for one wheel, make your next row, and so on down the line. If you do not have a lawn mower use a little wagon, not too small. YOUR WARDROBE ISN'T complete this summer without a squaw dress - - at least that's the conclusion drawn from observing observ-ing the gals at the dances lately MAURINE YACK wears a striking squaw skirt and blouse in ultra bright colors and MARGARET HUBER stepped out in her new colorful squaw skirt looking right pert in her bright red squaw dress with i braid trim was LAURA ANN ' LEAVITT as she announced the I Elementary program the other night. Others noticed during the evening were PAM HARMSTON HARM-STON and . ANN MURPHY. Seems these are good styles to buy since they need no ironing. LITTLE DIANA LABRUM was really dressed -up in her two piece orchid linen suit. Her perky spring straw hat with flower trim and white purse gave her a real grown up look, j ANN JOHANSEN LOOKS j smart in her navy summer suit-dress, suit-dress, with red and white trim. Her navy hat with red flower adds a pretty touch. Incidentally . we're mighty sorry to see the Johansens leave our community, but do wish them the best of luck and happiness in their home in Salt Lake City. WE LIKED LITTLE JOAN ZIMMERMAN in her cute navy suit and jaunty straw hat which has white daisy trim and ties under chin. ADDED TO NEW SPRING dresses is the natural colored linen sheath which LAVERA I BELLON wears; It has cap sle-i eves with brown button trim 1 from the neck to shoulder line. With it she wears striking metal jewelry with sunburnt effect. CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF GRACE BOWMAN in a light blue linen suit her black patent accessories made a good-looking good-looking outfit. AS WE LOOKED IN on the Sophmore Slide last Friday we were amazed to see that some new additions had been made to the male sex. On closer investigation in-vestigation we discovered that MELBA BENSON, MAURA HURLEY and GAY PATRY were having the time of their lives dressed as boys and dancing with all the girls really giving the fairer sex a thrill. We thought the Western decorations very clever. From the SOPHMORE dance at Union we glanced in on the ! JR. HIGH SCHOOL'S Girl's Day Dance, which signified that all were really having fun decorations carried out the theme of "Roses" and were very beautiful. Congratulations to GARY MCDONALD, who won the most preferred boy position j and also to the lucky couple, MARGARET CARLSON and KENNETH BENSON, who were the lucky winners of the Jant-zen Jant-zen sweaters. WHEN RIDING ABOUT our fair city the other day we noticed notic-ed some building going on near the Parley Rawlings' home upon inquiring we discovered that the BERT GARDNERS are building onto a home recently purchased in that area, and hope to be moved in before too long. DARLENE HUXFORD looked adorable in her one-piece summer sum-mer cotton. Her matching stole gave it a sophisticated look. JOLENE ROBISON should wear red more often we looked twice at her pretty red and white flowered summer skirt with bright red blouse very pretty. ONE OF THE most striking squaw dresses we've seen is the turquoise and black two-piece outfit that PRJSCILLA MALIN was wearing. It was styled with short sleeves and V-neck line and she wore matching turquoise tur-quoise pumps with it. I TO PREVENT RUST on gar- den tools, keep a thick rag soaked in kerosene handy for wiping off the tools when you come from the garden. , |
