Dr. String-ham String-ham will remain a member of the board due to his past-president's status, but not as an officer, of-ficer, unless the by-laws are amended. At the May meeting, Tuesday at the Frontier Grill Cafe, several sev-eral reports were heard by committee com-mittee chairman, and routine business discussed. Among the reports was one made by Howard How-ard Harrison, co-chairman with Merlin Sullivan, on roads and highways. He reported the county coun-ty had appropriated $1000 to be spent on the Uinta Canyon road this summer. He also read several communications from the State Road Commission pertaining per-taining to signs and designations of Highway 40. The state's reaction re-action to properly identifying the City of Roosevelt along the highway indicated they would do something about the discrimination dis-crimination at present on signs between Salt Lake and Roosevelt. Roose-velt. It was also reported the Chamber's sign near Heber City had been repainted. A progress and activity bulletin bul-letin is in the process of being compiled under the direction of W. S. Murdock, chairman of that committee. It was also announced an-nounced that a brochure publicizing pub-licizing Roosevelt and, the local area is in the process of being printed, and will be ready for distribution in the near future. |
