Fort Duchesne 4 0 1000 Bennett 3 1 750 Roosevelt 3 1 750 Randlett 2 2 . 500 Myton 0 4 000 Montwel 0 4 000 A Hustling baseball nine from the Fort Duchesne Indian reservation res-ervation last Saturday became the only team in the Basin league to keep its sla,te clean as they humbled Bennett 5 to 1 in a well played game on the Bennett Ben-nett field. Bennett's loss dropped them into a tie with Roosevelt for second place, who won a 10-7 decision from a rapidly improving im-proving Myton team on the seed community's diamond. Nathan Chaney and Garnet Birchell did the pitching foi-Roosevelt, foi-Roosevelt, allowing only 5 hits, but gave up 9 bases on balls. Jor-gensen Jor-gensen went the route for Myton, My-ton, giving 9 hits and 4 free passes while striking out 10. An interesting feature of the Myton team is their youthful-ness youthful-ness one youngster who held down second base is only 13 years old and shows promise of becoming a star. None of their players is beyond his early twenties. The schedule this week sends Ft. Duchesne to Randlett, Myton My-ton to Montwel, and Bennett comes to Roosevelt. All games are played at 2 o'clock on Saturday Satur-day afternoon. |
