Show Ointah Awarded $150,(100 For School Building Following the announcement this week that the Federal government govern-ment had tentatively alloted to the Uintah School District $150,-000.00 $150,-000.00 for school building construction, con-struction, a special meeting of the Board of Education of the Uintah Uin-tah School District was held at Union High School on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It was pointed out at the special spe-cial board meeting that the money allotted by the government would not cover the entire cost of a building and that, therefore, in order for a project to be undertaken under-taken additional funds will need be raised. The board also discussed dis-cussed the educational program and organization of schools on the west side of the county and decided on two tentative proposals propos-als to present to the school patrons pat-rons of the district. No definite action was taken at the special board meeting but a public hearing has been called for Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Alterra School. At this time the tentative proposals of the Board of Education will be made, both in regard to financing and the type of school organization organiza-tion to be undertaken. All interested inter-ested persons are invited to be in attendance at this meeting. However, How-ever, communities and organizations organiza-tions are requested to be represented repre-sented by a spokesman in order that the -discussion may proceed in an orderly manner and that all groups may have a chance to be heard. |
