Show Voloy Reynolds Es Crowned Queen Of 1 956 Duchesne County Fair Valoy Reynolds, one of fourl Roosevelt entries, was crowned "Miss Duchesne County" at the county fair's annual beauty contest con-test at Duchesne Fridy night.' ' Miss Reynolds, daughter of Mrs. Carly'le Reynolds, presided over.j the county fair, then, on Sept. 14 j thru 23rd, will represent the county coun-ty at the Utah State Fair, to compete com-pete for the title of Miss Utah. I . The coronation ceremonies' at the climax of Friday night's colorful color-ful show, held in the Duchesne stake house, saw Miss Reynolds crowned by Marilyn Anderson, 1955 queen, while 1956 attendants, Collie Defa of Tabiona and Charlotte Char-lotte Henrie of Neola looked on. Miss Reynolds was showered with scores of lovely gifts, plus a trophy and a five-piece Sam-sonite Sam-sonite luggage set. Judges who selected the queen and her attendants were Conrad B. Harrison, music critic of the Deseret News and Salt Lake Telegram; Tel-egram; Mrs. Harrison; Wayne Richards, Ri-chards, program director of KSL-TV KSL-TV and Mrs. Richards. County Agent Bob Murdock opened the program, after which the opening prayer was given by Clifton N. Memmott. Murdock then introduced Weston Bates, co-chairman co-chairman of the fair and then Mrs. Douglas McKinlay anJ Mrs. Dick Bastian, co-chairman of the beauty contest. Master of ceremonies Rowen Stutz then took over the program. Called out by Mr. Stutz, each of the girls first wore a street dress for the judges and audience to see and judge their appearance, Then, the girls reappeared in evening eve-ning cloths, many of them made at home. Finally, they were called out to perform. Talent included singing, piano playing plus a combination of the two, pantomine dancing, and recitation. To prolong the suspense, the judges asked the girls to take their places on platforms on the stage for "one last look." Finally, Misses Defa, Henrie and Reynolds were called on the stage and then Emcee Stutz announced the winner. In interviews, all three girls expressed themselves as "too nervous" to talk. After the cornation ceremony, gifts were presented t'o all the entrants and the program was concluded.
