GENTRY 3rd MARINE DIVISION at CAMP PENDLETON, CALIF Taking part in SEA JUMP, the i largest Navy and Marine Corps training exercise ever staged on the West Coast, April 20 to May 17, are Corp. Philip B. Harrison, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fran L. Harrison, Roosevelt; Pvt. First Class ' Reid S. Taveapont, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Teavea-pont, Teavea-pont, Whiterocks; Pvt. First Class, Alonzo L. Bristol, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C. Bristol, Bluebell; Sgt. William Richard Jennings, 23. son of William A. Jennings, Myton; and Sgt. Robert "B. Gentry, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Devon Gentry, Myton. Serving in the 4th Marine Regiment, Reg-iment, a unit of the 3rd Marine Division, the local Leathernecks joined 24,000 Marines in amphibious am-phibious assault on Aliso Beach near Oceanside, California, on D-Day, May 5. SEA JUMP, a graduation exercise ex-ercise for the Division, completes com-pletes a rugged 14-month curriculum cur-riculum of beach, desert, snow and atomic training. OLIVER BURSON WITH THE SEVENTH ARMY IN GERMANY Oliver Burson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Burson, Fort Duchesne, Utah, was recently promoted to private pri-vate first .class while serving with the Seventh Army's 5th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion at Weisbaden, Germany. His unit is part of the cordon of NATO defense forces stretching stretch-ing across western Europe under un-der the overall command of General Matthew Ridgway. Private First Class Burson, a loader and firer in the battalion's battal-ion's Headquarters Battery, arrived ar-rived in Europe in April, 1952.
