Rites were solemnized Friday, November 25, at the Ervin Wardle home by Hollis G. Hullinger, president of the Roosevelt LDS Stake. Two prominent "young members of Roosevelt's social set, Miss Melba Benson and Larry Robert Swain, were united in impressive nuptial rites Friday, November 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle. President Hollis G.-Hullinger of the Roosevelt Roose-velt LDS stake, performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Naomi Benson and the late' Murel Benson, and the bridegroom's bride-groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Orin (Hank). Swain, Roosevelt. A reception and dance complimented compli-mented the newlyweds the' same evening at the Roosevelt stake house. For her wedding the bride selected a white slipper satin and lace gown, designed with a fitted lace jacket, having a mandarin collar and sleeves tapering to lily points at the wrist. The bouffant skirt was accented with a lace overskirt brought up to scallops at interesting points. Her veil of illusion cascaded from a tiara of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of rosebuds and white carnations. Mrs. Reed Hullinger, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and wore a ballerina length gown of blue brocaded taffeta with matching lace jacket. Bridesmaids were the Misses JeNeal Pack, Carolyn Everett and Marilyn Anderson, An-derson, who all had like designed princess styled dresses, the first two wearing pink and Miss Anderson An-derson choosing yellow. Their bouquets corresponded with the shades of their gowns'. . Little Marilyn Swain was the flower girl and was dressed in pastel pink. Mother of the bride was attired in an afternoon dress of rose taffeta taf-feta and grey lace. She had a corsage cor-sage of pink roses and white carnations. car-nations. The bridegroom's mother chose a pink afternoon gown with pink lace insets, accented with a pink carnation corsage. Best man duties were performed by Bob Johnstun. In charge of the serving were Miss Dicia Emert, Mrs. Phillip Pack, and Mrs. Lyall Pitt. Gift tables were under the direction of Mrs. Kirk Benson and Miss Janice Anderton and Miss Mary Murphy had charge of the guest book. A beautiful three-tiered pink and white wedding cake topped with the traditional bride and groom, centered the reception table, with pink tapers in crystal holders at either end. Bob Benson, brother of the bride, was emcee for the program, announcing the following numbers: vocal solos, Mrs. Sheldon Fitzgerald, Fitz-gerald, Miss JeNeal Pack, Kenny Benson and Mrs. Lynn Huber; reading, Bob Benson; and vocal duet Miss Janice Anderton and Mrs. Leon Ross. For her going-away outfit the new Mrs. Swain wore a black knit dress with a white and silver jacket. The newlyweds are making their home in Roosevelt at the present time. Mr. Swain is in the tile business, bus-iness, having been employed by Spiker Tile Company in Salt Lake City. |
