Show Scouts Present Play To Ward The Myton Boy Scout Troop No. 253 presented a play at the MIA meeting, Tuesday evening, in the Myton LDS ward chapel. "Get Along Little Cowboy," was met with great applause', and proved to be an exciting feature. Members of the cast were Floyd Nielsen, Wayne Martin, Kenneth Taylor, Willard Mathisen, Billy Faucett, Ronald Giles and Newell Richens, under the direction of Wilmer Murray, scoutmaster, and Aften Richens, assistant scoutmaster. HAVE OVERNIGHT TRIP Scout troop leaders from the University of Scouting participated in an overnight camping trip on the Duchesne' River, east of town, Saturday night. Among the group were leaders from Vernal, White-rocks, White-rocks, Roosevelt, Duchesne and Myton. They built their campfires by flint and steel, cooked their supper, pitched their tents and slept on the' ground. In the morning morn-ing they cooked breakfast and then returned to their usual duties. SPECIAL LEGION MEETING The American Legion Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sands Unit No. 5, held a special meeting at the Legion hall one evening last week. Special business bus-iness was the dedication of the new Unit Colors, which were recently re-cently purchased. Mrs. H. C. Cooper, Coop-er, unit president, was in charge of the meeting. Later in the evening, eve-ning, unit and post members were '"' mwWm served a delicious lunch to commemorate com-memorate the' occasion. Mrs Bliss Lott entertained Sunday Sun-day evening at a dessert luncheon. Her guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Ted Thomas and S. F. Mortensen, Sr. Bridge was the evening's diversion with prizes awarded to Miss Todd and Mr. Mortensen, and a special prize to Mrs. Rex Lamb, whose birthday fell upon that date. GAIN SECOND PLACE The Myton Boy Scout Troop No. 253 were' in attendance at the Court of Honor at Roosevelt, Sunday Sun-day and placed second in advancement advance-ment for the month of December. The Explorer Troop No. 2253, won the advancement ribbon and one member, Jerry Murray, received three merit badges and was approved ap-proved as a Life Scout, receiving a badge, of that rank. |
